What is a Preset?

Presets are settings used for Lightroom, i.e. a preset that applies in image development software Adobe Lightroom Classic, Adobe Lightroom CC and also Lightroom for mobile.

You can either choose the mobile version or for presets on computer.

As soon as you master how to use the presets, you can then make your own.

Why Use Lightroom Presets?

If you are fussy about the look and mood of your photos, whether you are a professional photographer, a blogger, an influencer or just an instagrammer who wants to have a beautiful feed, Presets Lightroom is for you. Indeed, Presets Lightroom create a harmony in the colors, the contrasts and the style of the photos. As you use the presets, you will come to develop your own style and creativity.

Several Lightroom presets are free, however you will have to test them a lot and be sure of the outcome you want in your photos before finding the right ones with the desired result.

If you want to have photos containing more complex or creative settings, then it is advisable to invest in a paid Lightroom Preset offering more subtle settings.

How do I install a Lightroom Preset?

1 / Download the LIGHTROOM CC application from Apple or Playstore

2/ (a) Mobile

Before downloading your files, please make sure that you have the application Adobe Lightroom on your mobile.
After clicking on the link, save the photos in your gallery and afterwards transfer them to the Lightroom application. To be able to have the same preset on your photos, you will need first to transfer your personal photos to lightroom application. Then, copy the effects on the preset and paste it on your photos.

(b) Select Lightroom (Share the photos to Lightroom).

(c) The Lightroom application opens and a photo appears.

(d) Click on the three small dots at the top right.

(e) Click on Create a Preset.

(f) Enter the name of the Seaview Preset in 'Preset Name', then validate at the top right (symbol squared in white on the image below).

(g) Drag the various icons at the bottom right to the Presets icon.

(h) Click on Presets then scroll down to User Presets

(i) Check that the new Seaview preset has been added.

(j) Start over from step 6 to install the other presets. At the end, you will be able to see the 4 presets and use them for all your images!

3/ How to install Lightroom Presets on computers?

A.Install Presets on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

(a) Save the Presets file

 

(b) Open Lightroom and go to Preferences.
On PC: Edit -> Preferences
On Mac: Lightroom -> Preferences.

 

(c) A window is displayed. Go to the Presets tab, then click Show Lightroom Presets Folder.

 

(d) A window opens with several folders.
Click on the Lightroom folder.
Then click on the Develop Presets folder.
Drop the previously downloaded Presets folder into the Develop Presets folder.
The 4 presets in .lrtemplate format then appear in the folder (see green circle on the image below).

 

(e) Open Lightroom on your computer -> Click on Develop -> Check that the Presets appear at the bottom left.

 

B. Install Presets on Lightroom CC

1/ Open the Lightroom CC application on your computer.

 

2/ Click on the editing symbol at the top right.

 

3/ Click on Presets at the bottom of the window.

 

4/ Click on the three small dots at the top -> Click on Import Presets

 

5/ Add the Presets file and check that the 4 new presets have been added (in white on the image below).
